Moscow. 12th of April. INTERFAX.RU – Assault detachments “Wagner” seized three quarters of Artemovsk (Bakhmut), strikes were made on the reserves of the Ukrainian army, trying to break into the city, said the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov.
“In the Donetsk direction in the Artemivsk area, the Wagner assault detachments captured three city blocks,” Konashenkov said at a briefing.
According to him, units of the Airborne Forces (VDV) of the Russian Federation fettered the actions of the Ukrainian military on the flanks of the assault detachments.
“Strikes by operational-tactical aviation, missile troops and artillery fire from the Southern Group of Forces hit enemy reserves that were trying to break into Artemovsk from the settlements of Chasov Yar and Bogdanovka, as well as units of the 28th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the settlement of Konstantinovka of Donetsk Narodnaya Republic (DNR),” Konashenkov said.
According to him, over the past day, Russian aviation made eight sorties in this area, and missile troops and artillery completed 52 fire missions.
“Enemy losses amounted to more than 245 Ukrainian servicemen, one tank, an armored personnel carrier, two armored combat vehicles, three pickup trucks, eight vehicles, an Msta-B howitzer, two D-20 howitzers, and three Grad MLRS launchers,” he added. Konashenkov.
