Tel Aviv/Gaza. 19 January -50. After haggling with the terror organization HAMAS over 30 plus hostages are to be freed in a three-phase exchange. Donald Trump warned HAMAS make a deal or face the consequences.
Delegation from Egypt, Qatar, Israel, the United States, and Europe worked hard on the deal. Trials and tribulations aside, even in the last moments of the settlement the anxiety ran high. Then the days of Freedom arrived.
After 471 days in captivity Emily Damari, Doron Steinbrecher and Romi Gonen were set free. In a caldron of screaming HAMAS fanatics under heavy guard by some green HAMAS guards the three now former hostages were handed over to the International Red Cross representatives and driven to freedom.
It is yet to be seen if the deal will continue. In the first phase the living will be released, in the second phase the Israeli Army hostages will be set free and finally the dead.
Besides the jubilation in Israel and the world, the Palestinians will be unlikely to hail as a victory over the Jews and the hated Americans. Real-politic will set in and the future is bleak for the Palestinians.
Hate fills the air and revenge talks are circulating and it is to be seen if a sustainable peace is settling in the ravished lands.
