Heavy fighting continues in the Bakhmut district of the Donetsk region. In the city of Chasov Yar, located near Bakhmut, there is no longer a single building, electricity and communications, it is surrounded on three sides by Russian forces.
All children were taken out of the city, about two thousand local residents remain here, who are under constant shelling.
“It doesn’t matter to me. I would like to live in peace in retirement. I am far from politics. And you won’t watch the news now, because there is no TV and radio,” says pensioner Oleg.
In his evening address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on fellow citizens to concentrate and said that the war had reached a stage when everyone should think about their steps towards victory.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal is on a visit to Canada. Kyiv will receive a new package of Canadian military assistance – more than 20,000 assault rifles, dozens of machine guns and more than two million rounds of ammunition.
