To promote dialogue and strengthen the groundwork for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)’s policy discussions and deliverables, U.S. Senior Official for APEC Ambassador Matt Murray will participate in a capacity-building session facilitated by the United States-Support for Economic Growth in Asia (US-SEGA) program in Lima, Peru, from September 14-15, 2023.
This session will provide invaluable insights and facilitate the transfer of knowledge to support Peru’s vision as the APEC host economy in 2024. The collaboration will draw upon a wealth of experiences gained during the current U.S. APEC host year. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions to exchange best practices and innovative ideas.
Throughout the capacity-building session, US-SEGA will collaborate closely with Peruvian government officials to integrate the outcomes of recent roundtable discussions; taking into account the identified trends, interests, and good practices; and allowing for a more robust and informed approach to their APEC preparations.
The United States is pleased to partner with Peru as it prepares to undertake the important role of hosting APEC in 2024. We look forward to highly productive and mutually beneficial collaboration across the whole of both our governments.
